Patent activity of small and medium-sized enterprises

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to comprehensively analyse the current landscape of small and mediumsized enterprises in Russia, with a special focus on their quantitative and qualitative characteristics of innovation activity. The paper examines key indicators of the SME sector’s development, including the number of entities, their turnover and contribution to GDP, registration dynamics, distribution across industries and regions, as well as metrics of patenting and application activity.
